Well, I've only heard 1 person say that. The Stanford coach, and I suppose it was so that when his team loses by 50 points, he has his excuse ready. No doubt USC will be good this year, but I just don't buy that they are the best team USC has ever had.
I do hope they put a whuppin on any SEC teams they meet, as most (not all) SEC fans are getting rather obnoxious with the "we are the toughest conference" rants. If it is too tough tansfer to the Southland conference or one of the other lesser groups.
I predict there will be some surprises and some upsets this year.

Well I am not going to predict anything right now, I don't want to appear as one of those obnoxious SEC fans. I did take notice that Alabama wasn't on that list. I guess time will tell. As RB says, let the games begin!

others in the local media have said it as well...i lived in usc and ucla's backyard for the past 39 years till i moved in january to n.c.
i dont buy it either and for one reason only...john david booty is a weakness , not a strength...their defense should be stellar though...
in my opinion, the best usc team that i saw was the one that beat iowa in the bowl game a few years back...though they suffered a couple of early season loses, by the time the end of the year rolled around, they were smokin!!

With 5 teams ranked in the top 10 toughest schedules, there is a case to be made for that. Until there is a playoff system in place, it is a pointless argument. Hopefully the 2 best teams will make it to the BCS championship game and we'll have a clear National Champion. All too often the BSC championship series is a clusteryouknowwhat.

Give them a couple years. Saban is already getting better recruits. He will turn them around.

Where are you getting strength of schedule? I have been looking at Sagarin ratings, and Phil Steele's site.
PAC 10 commisioner says they will pull out of the BCS if they go to a plus 1 format. That would be better than nothing, unless Florida State has 4 losses, wins their conference, gets a BCS bowl, and then upsets an undefeated team. That would be a nightmare.
