Although I am not a democrat I want you folks to tune in tonight because a local woman is going to speak. Her name is Lilly Ledbetter and she is trying to resurrect legislation called the Lilly Ledbetter fair pay act. It went to the senate and it fell just short of passing.

This stems from her years of working at a Goodyear tire plant here in Alabama. She found out, as she was preparing to retire, that she had been receiving less pay than the lowest paid men that did the same job.

All over the nation women are earning only 73% of what men earn and it's even worse for minority women.
