Balance Transfer offers?

Who has the best balance transfer offer currently?

My Chase Card is offering 0% but the fee is high, 3% up to $199.

I need to open another CC account anyway. BOA just closed one of my cards because I never really used it, a sure indication they will be the next bank to fail

Re: Balance Transfer offers?

I believe the offers on Merrill+ were capped at $75, but it has been a little while since I looked at them.

Citi was offering some low APR BT's with no fee but it has been a cycle or two since I saw them on my account summary.

I notice that more and more are adding the fees instead of waiving them.

The rates are going up, too. I used to get a lot of 1.9% or 2.9%, now they're 3.99% and 4.99%

My guess is that we are seeing some of the backlash from the storm created by all of those clamoring for 'credit card reform.' The current climate in general is not helping matters either...

But hey, what did I know when I said they would make their money back through the 'good' customers...

Re: Balance Transfer offers?

I went with Discover......3% fee up to a max of $75 and I get 0% money for 13 months.

Excellent initial service from them. I never get approved via the net as I have a major fraud alert on all my files. When I applied they gave me an approval number and an an 800 number to call. Two minutes later my card was approved and I will have it in ten days.

I have to admit I was worried about this one given the current banking situation. I could pay it off if I had to but will continue to ride at these 0% offers as long as they will hand me free $$$.

Re: Balance Transfer offers?

That's the way to do it. Get the money that's cheap and get the interest. Especially if you have the money to pay it back if something goes wrong and they up the rate, or you can't get the intro offer extended or get a new one.

Using Other People's Money is a good thing, as long as it doesn't cost more than you make on it.
