| Also new here. Hi...I hope this comes out somewhat acceptably. This is my first post and I am trying to introduce myself.
I am in the horrifying Aftermath of a longterm relationship with a pathological idiot. Actually, I feel like the idiot after so many self-defeating choices.
I lost so much.....the savings, my near perfect credit is trashed and now that I am free at last, free at last, I think I need to address the ruined credit scores, as so much rides on that. I have a goal to refinance my house and get a more traditional , lower interest mortgage so that I can use some of the huge down payment sitting here for some absolute necessities. Plus, the monthly payment is almost 90% of my income. Oops beyond belief.....what a nightmare.
I have been reading for a few days and I am still confused and overwhelmed but it will get worked out.
Thanks so much for letting me join. I am going to put the aftermath behind me, one step at a time. Thanks All and I hope this works.
I went to the linked sites and I am not sure whether to call or order on line for the "hard-copy" credit reports.

Aftermath | I'll go ahead and answer this here but for more help it is best to post in the credit forum.
Either way is a good way to order your reports as long as you do so. Ordering online to receive a hard copy by mail takes a few days longer than calling and ordering by phone. If you have not gotten your free credit report this year mandated by federal law, you can get them for free. If you've been turned down for credit or other adverse action, it's easy to order by phone. It is ultimately up to you to choose whichever way is more convenient for you.
Oh, and welcome to Infinitecredit.

Aftermath | Online will offer you depression/exhilaration - immediately knowing how bad you screwed up, but instantly looking forward to moving forward on your repair journey.
If you want to order by phone, go potty, get a beer, kick up your feet, and be prepared for Hold Hell. Afterwards, you will wait an excruciatingly painful amount of time for them to show up in your mail box, only to be met with extreme depression and exhilaration knowing how bad you screwed up, but instantly start looking forward to credit health.
Welcome aboard!

| Thanks for the warm welcome , everyone.
I am going to go where it's even warmer now and proceed into that "hold hell" to get at least one of those reports.
Considering that my FPI (former pathological idiot) considered all bills to be optional and/or, mere suggestions or hints that someone was looking for money.....I am guessing I will be needing a lot of help before very long.
So, thanks for being here!!!
I am trying to stick to the facts and avoid the "woe is me" aspect of this journey, but sometimes the reality of the facts is woeful. So it goes.
I learned my lesson and I am proceeding over to the Credit Repair area to find the needed phone numbers.
Nowhere to go but up.

| just testing--please forgive! I don't know where to put this.
I haven't been able to post replies or ask questions in the credit repair section.
I have typed the same "way too wordy as is my style till I calm down" question a gzillion times in the past few days and it has poofed.
I just want to see if I can post yet.
I got paranoid that I had done something really really wrong!
Thanks!
