You can also check to see when your letter was received and signed for by entering the number found on the green stub or your receipt:

Priority mail also has signature confirmation service as well.

Interesting. I'm not ready to go fully online for things like this, just my security paranoia. But if you're into the high tech this looks like the way to go.

I havce used USPS certified mail with return receipt requested and have never had any problems. Actually I rather do it this way so I can dispute something in time "within 30 days" otherwise I am liable to forget.

But did you do the certified mail online? I use certified mail for a lot of things, I just haven't done it online.

Yes, I have done certified mail online. Costs about a dollar or dollar and fifty cents more than going to the post office. But with todays prices and the convenience of not having to go to PO the extra charge is easilly justifiable.

My husband goes to (or at least by) the post office almost every day, so the extra money isn't worth it to me, but it sounds like a good deal if you have to make a special trip.

Yes it is convenient instead of standing in line at the post office and I have sent certified mail by hand versus online and it seemed like it scared the be-geevers out of them or something cause they answered with the quickness. You get the green card back just like you would as if you had filled out only difference is that it is typed real nice and neat like. Qtip is right; at the PO it costs about 4.35 I think and on line it was 5.60 if memory serves me.
Priority mail with signature confirmation is a few cents cheaper. I love technology!

A while back, before I met my husband, I had surgery. Stuff that this would have been great then, when I couldn't get out. Of course, back then I didn't have internet.
