That is the way the guy spelled it but I amcertain he is full of it. Next time they call I will listen to the sells pitch and then ask them for an adress and phone number so that I can send the check. As soon as they give it to me I will send them aholes the summons.
It really bothers me that they do this, they pretend to be calling for someone else and then they try to pull "well while I have you on the phone" crap.

That's what I did to the pharmacies that kept calling me. I pretended I wanted to buy something and got their info and then their manager on the phone and "If I have to ask one more time for you to stop calling my house I will charges against you."

Ok this is the development, I been spending time learning as much as I can about this a$$holes.
This is what they do, they are calling from a call center in india. The subcontractors are zen financial and another called national data center. Today I played interested, now three national companies are supposed to contact me.
Once they contact you, you give them the code from the data center so they get credit.
What they are doing is messed up, you cannot sue the sob's in india and the national companies do not call you unless you tell the idiots in india that you want to be called by the companies.
Menawhile if you tell them you do not want a call, the idiots in india keep calling. You would think that the national companies should be liable? I recorded the conversation today, will record the one with the national loan company.
I am so frustrated, seems there is no way to stop them.

Those calls from India are harassment as far as I am concerned. I am dealing with a call center from there working for ASTRA, and they call twice a day, and you get this woman or man name JOE or MARY asking you in your name to please call them.
They say no more.
NOW though this last week they do not leave a message but they let the answering machine pick up and I guess they leave their phone off the hook .
This starts eventually "Please hang up , as your number cannot be dialed this way, and please try again" and then you get those very loud beeps.
As soon as it hits bad weather and I have more time,I will be suing them for harassing me and not validating.
Of course you guys wil have to help me : )

In my case they ask for a ficticious name, then turn around and ask you if you have a loan.
I hate the little bastards.

I believe that the US company that contracts with them may have some liability, but I'm not positive.
I'd call the FTC and ask them how the "do not call" list works with Indian companies. They may just need enough complaints to do something about it.

My wife's getting a skip tracer calling our house every day now.
What can you do about people calling you at least once a day asking for someone (a relative) that doesn't and never has lived at your house? How do we entice them into violating some way for me to get them.

Is it the same skip tracer calling everyday? Are they independent or working for a CA or JDB?

I think they're actually working for BoA or some CA/JDB collecting an account for BoA. Infact, it may be related to a W&A case where they've been trying to locate her to serve her for a year and can't because she doesn't have an address..
Anyways, I wish *I* could go after them for it. Hopefully they'll call today as I'm working from home today. I'll tell them that they can't speak with her and it's inconvenient to call here at any time.

Find out for sure who it is by asking, "When I see (person's name) whom shall I tell her to call back?" Keep on that line of questioning until you find out. Be persistant. Then send a C&D for your number VMRRR. If they call again, violations and ITS time.

The only problem is that they sometimes pass your phone number over to other lists. However, when I threatened to haul their behinds into court they stopped calling me too.

Get a trap put on your line. Call your phone company and get one.
I used to love phoneco voice mail -- you could send ALL calls without caller ID to it. You'd never even hear 'em. I miss that service.

That is an idea, but I hate to spend more money simply to keep someone that should not be calling me to begin with from calling.
To add to the Saga, my little plan paid off about one week ago. A broker from NY called me and left a message. He was triying to sell aloan to a Paul Smith "lol" Something about I contacted an affilliate yada yada yada.
I called back his number and of course it was an answering machine, I left a message telling him that I am on the do not call list. I did not request to be called and never applied for a loan with any of his affiliates. Further more I am sure they are familiar with the TCPA, if they called me again I would sue the living crap out of them, considering I cannot sue the assholes in India.
Have not heard from them again lol
