Do you still need a credit card in order to obtain Live with an Xbox360?

Hey guys, I'm just inquiring on whether you need a credit card to obtain live with an Xbox360, as opposed to the normal Xbox where you did need one.

I'm getting a 360 in October along with Halo 3 and I'd love to get live also, the only thing is my parents don't have credit cards and I heard you don't need one for a 360. Any information will be greatly appreciated!

for the gold yes u do(this is the one that u need to play with other people)
so yea u do need a credit card or debit card
or u can buy the xbox live card in the store and u wont need it
