You use Credit cards in Monopoly instead of money

Well, I've personally seen it at Wall-Mart, but I'm sure you can pick it up at Target, Toys-R-Us, K-Mart and the like!! It looks like it should be available at most stores that carry that kind of thing this holiday season. Looks like a lot of fun... have you also seen Monopoly the Mega edition?? It's the first version of Monopoly that I've seen that tries to address a few of the bad issues of the game. It tries to move the game along a little faster... you don't have to have a "full" monopoly to start building houses and things along that line... Toys-R-Us carries that version. Check it out sometime!!

Target-Keep reading

The makers of Monopoly have decided to move with the times in the latest release of the popular board game, which replaces cash with Visa-branded debit cards.

The revamped version incorporates an electronic card reader that records the earnings and payments for players and transfers money between them.

Still based on London streets, the new "Here & Now" version of the game attempts to incorporate all the trappings of modern-day life.

The new version reflects today's property prices, and includes trendy districts such as Portobello Road Market, Soho, and Notting Hill.

It has exchanged train stations for airports and the game tokens are no longer top-hats and racing cars of days gone by, but the more modern phenomena of mobile phones, roller blades and cheeseburgers.

Chance and Community Chest cards have also been revamped. Instead of winning a beauty contest, contestants now win a reality TV show, and there is no more passing go and collecting £200, as players now pocket a whopping £2 million.

Modernisation of the game began last year during the game's 70th anniversary when its makers asked themselves: "If Monopoly was invented today what would it look like?"

The new electronic version of the game is now on sale in Target for $69.99, and Hasbro said it would become available through other retail outlets in the next few months.

Amanda Blackhall, brand manager for Monopoly in Australia, said the game had already proven to be extremely popular.

"I think we almost sold out," she said.

Hasbro said the cash version of Monopoly would still be available for those who preferred the original
