Will I get my down payment back on a dealer that was charged on credit card?
I charged $5000 down payment on my master credit card for a new car purchase. I signed a pre-sale contract, which is non-binding, because it was needed for the finance process. After I met with the finance manager, I wasn't satisfied with the rate that they're offering me. It was way above the current car loan rate. Therefore, the deal was off. Before I left, the finance manager told me that they'll refund the full amount. I didn't get any paper work from them for the refund. I took their words. After two weeks, I still didn't see the refund. I called the dealer and left them the message, they didn't return my call. I'm going through the dispute process through my credit card company. I am a bit concern because I didn't have any paperwork. Does anyone know more about my consumer right? And am I going to get my money back?

you,ll get it back you,ll have to call your credit card company and notify them to get in contact with you when the dealer ship puts in for it to be returned,it may take about 30 days to get it back though,it takes longer to get it back than to spend it,but you will get it back,id have a note put on with the credit card company to call me as soon as the got notice of it,this way you,ll know when it comes back off, good luck with it.

You have had two very dumb ass answers here. The bottom line is that someone at the dealership has dropped the ball. The finance manager you spoke with had already sent the credit card slip to the office for processing, and whoever is in accounts receivable has no clue that money is supposed to be returned. You have already contacted the credit card company. Now you need to contact the office manager at the dealership.
No one has committed any fraud, just good old fashioned dropped the ball. If you still have no luck, file a complaint with the automobile association in your state. The dealer will have to send a response and a means to correct the problem to them.

This is why when I bought my last vehicle I walked into a car dealer and said to the salesman "You are a bunch of crooks and I am not giving you a dime." I drove out a couple of hours later with a brand new 100% financed vehicle without giving them even a penny.
Car dealers are all crooks. In a few weeks if you go by there you will see that the dealership has changed hands and the new owners will say they have nothing to do with you.
Your only hope is the dispute on your credit card. You should have received copies of all the paperwork. Since you got nothing, it is a clear sign the dealer is a fraud.
