Can a debt to a credit card company raise the cost of the debt if its in collections?

I have citi bank card that started off as 2000 dollars in collections. Now it is over 4000 USD. Can they put interest and charges when they put it in collections? They are collecting through Associated Recovery Systems. www.payars.com anyone else have problems about this? Is this legal once its in collections to raise the debt owed?

Yes it's legal to add interest, late pay charges and over limit charges once a account goes to collections.

This is all explained in the terms and conditions that you were to read and agree to before you got the card.

You did read it right?

Sure its legal. The problem is you refusing to repay money you took in the first place, not people trying to collect the money owed to them.

You want to see high penalties? Try cheating on your taxes! The IRS does not like you stealing from the country, and lets you know it. They make collection agencies look like kitty cats.
