Which credit card company offer the best student credit card?

I'm trying to get a credit card for my son who's attending college now. Which bank offer the best student credit card & where can I get it online?

I'm wondering why he needs a credit card. I can see 2 reasons as to why: 1) start building a credit history (as long as he's responsible and builds a positive history), or 2) he needs to borrow money to finish up school. If it's not one of those 2, I'd be wary of getting a credit card just for the sake of having a credit card.

If it's a card that he needs, and not for one of the 2 reasons above, then I would just go with a debit card, either as part of a checking account or a stand alone prepaid card. There's no risk of him overspending and accumulating unnecessary debt. And he gets the convenience of plastic.

Well, it's a matter of personal choice to decide which student credit card is the best one. I work at the credit card site and watch the market. If I were a student, I would rather choose Discover cards for students. Discover offer cards for good credit only, but their student cards, as compared to most other student products, seem to be very good - the interest is not high and there are rewards. But of course, you should look at them with your own eyes.
