The fastest and safest way to get a credit card is to apply online. All the banks that accept credit card applications online are using the most secure technology to ensure the safety of your information. There are many credit card web sites out there that you can go to and apply for a credit card online. The one that I like is this one: http://www.creditcardxpo.com

Hi. You might consider getting a prepaid debit card first through a company like orchard bank, since they will report to credit bureaus, thus increasing your credit score.

I have an orchard bank card, and a capital one card.

Just please make sure you look very carefully at the fine print, etc before signing up for anything. Also, you have to be disciplined, or you can end up in a lot of debt, even unintentionally.

One thing to look for in a credit card is a 'buyer protection plan'.

I wrote an article on it on my blog at http://garyfarnam.org/wordpress/?p=5
