what happens if you overpay a credit card so you know how much you can spend without owing a dollar?

what happens if you overpay a credit card so you know how much you can spend without owing a dollar? (that way you never need to worry about paying your credit card)
And is there a fee for overpaying your credit card? and how do you get back the amount of money you overpaid?

They send you a check if you over pay. I just over paid .77 cents last month I got a refund check for that amount this month. It cost them more to print the check then the amount on it. They will only send it back to you.

1- There is no fee for over payment.
2- Unless you call, most credit card companies do not send the money back automatically in case you use the credit for future purchases.
3- You will not get interest paid for the money you over paid.
4- It depends on the amount you over paid, it can take 7-10 business days for you to get your money back.
5- Why would you want to over paid your credit card?. There is no benefit for doing so. If you forgot to have a credit balance, it'll stay on your credit card for a long time while you can use that money for something else.

All credit cards are different. You need to read the literature that came with your credit card account. Having said that, you should be getting interest paid to your account since you have it overpaid. There shouldn't be a charge, but like I said, all credit cards are different.
good luck.

No fees on overpaying. You get your money back by either using it as a charge, or call the company back to have them send you a check. You can avoid overpaying by having them automatically either sending you a notice in email, or having them automatically drafting your checking account.

Most card companies have these services.
