Which is the best american express credit card to apply for? I have excellent credit and would like to apply for an american express credit card.

If you can find a card that's NOT a 30 day charge, as is most AMEX cards, take it. If you're not sure what I mean, whatever you charge, you must pay back at the end of the month (i.e. 100 bucks now... 100 bucks due at your next bill).

The interest rate on any balance unpaid is obscene.

I have the Blue Cash from american express and I love it. The blue cash card gives me a full 5% cash back on gas. Since gas is so expensive these days and I drive a lot, it really saves me some money. It also gives me up to 5% cash back on everything that I buy with the card. Other benefits include: 0% interest for 6 months, 4.99% on balance transfers for the life of the balance. Their customer service is also one of the best among all credit card companies. So I highly recommend this card.
