I had a credit card in 1999. I believe to have stopped paying on it in 2002. Now they say it is at an attorney’s office and they are going to file a claim against me. The attorney was very rude to me and began to threaten me. He said that if I receive any kind of assistance or even receive money back from my income tax, they would take it all away from me. I guess my question is, can they do this to me. He said it is a misdemeanor is this true. My question is can they threaten me like that. And what will really happen?
