Unauthorized usage of credit card by 16 yrs old to gamble?

I need some feedbacks, my sister who just turned 16 couple weeks ago used my up credit card to gamble online, she raked up about $1800 in less than a month using my credit card that I only found out when the credit card called me and told me I have past due (the card that I haven't used in 8 mos.). Anyway, I called the 1-800 number on my statement and I was told that I should file a police report against my sister before I can get a chargeback. I feel like I'm in the middle of 2 big rocks, I don't want to get my sister in trouble, but then I don't want to pay for this bill. Any input would really be appreciated. Thanks!

If This were my brother/sister I would go and file a Police report. If you do nothing it lets her know she has gotten away with THEFT. Your sister also needs to go to GA for counseling. You DID NOT authorize this transaction(s) so why should you be left with her debt. She is under 17, so the consequences will not be as severe as if she was an adult. You also need to have her computer, cellphone and any other device she uses for talking to friends/entertainment taken away from her. You could also sell her things to cover the debt or make her get a job to cover the charges.
