walmart credit cards problems?

I recently got approved for the walmart credit card. I only shop at walmart and sam's club. I was wondering has anyone had problems with there walmart credit card? Also I have heard that some credit card companys send there payment bill late to the customer so therefore the customer makes a payment late and has to pay interest. Can you explain to me how you pay for your credit card bill? I know the bill comes in and you send them money for it, but can you pay at a local walmart, online with a bank debit card? etc. Also my husband says that the only way it will help your credit score is if you pay the whole amount before the bill comes in is that true? How many days to they allow you to get your payment in? 2 weeks 1 week? I would apprecite any info and additional info. Thanks so much!! Also, I said i got approved for the card it is my husbands name b/c he is the only income comming in, can i still use the card or does he have to be there to sign the paper?

I would hope that Walmart isn't doing that lets send the
bill late to the customer. See if you can review your
account on-line and if you can pay CASH at your local
store

If you pay off the balance in full when do, you won't be
establishing a credit payment history, unless you have
enough established credit then it wouldn't matter.

Let me dissect your question and itemize my answers:

1) With regard to credit card companies sending their bills late so that you most likely get a late-payment....yes this has happen before. The credit card company was called Providian and they were worse. Providian would receive the checks/cash them but not credit the accounts and still charged a late payment.

You can educate yourself more on credit by visiting the following website(it's a PBS Frontline Special titled "The Secrete Credit Card"):

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/credit/view/

2) Since you shop at Walmart you can make your payments at Walmart directly so DON'T MAIL YOUR CHECK IN THE MAIL!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes it's the Post Office's fault and they may lose your check with payment. And even if you are late---they can't report you to the credit bureaus because you would need to be 30-days past due to be reported late THUS negatively affect your FICO score.

3) I pay my credit card in the store and collect my receipt.

4) No you don't need to pay the entire amount...BUT if you just pay the minimum payment then yes this will not look good. But a Walmart card doesn't give you as much credit as a VISA/Master Card/Discover/or AMEX card would.

5) You should give it at least 6-7 days on the day you mail your payment for them to receive it.

6) You can apply for one too or have him add you. It really doesn't matter. So long as you make your payments they don't care. But under employment put that you are a homemaker or have your husband co-sign with you. If student's with no job can get a credit card...why can't you????
