What about these credit card companies that change the rules?

All of a sudden, after years of doing it the other way, paying the bill the day BEFORE the due date cannot be processed in time. Doesn't it matter when you PAY it not when THEY process it?
In fact, my husband was a bank examiner for the Feds awhile back, and all the new business about electronic funds transfer is very complicated. They "have" my money when I "give" it to them electronically. A "person" does not have to "process" it any longer. That they block me from doing that on certain days cannot be legal. The one answer is so on target. They take what they want and wait for you to fight back. Legally, and expensively. I am 63 and on pension by the way..not "Moneybags" or I wouldn't charge at all.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but the only date that counts is the day that your payment is processed by the credit card company. I always suggest that people send their payments in as soon as their bill arrives in the mail so as to avoid late fees.

Sorry, the only date that matters is the date that your payment is posted to your account.

It's the same with all lenders so what's the big deal just mail your payments at least a week before there due and don't worry about it.

This is nothing new.

Congress should pass a law telling credit card companies that if it's postmarked before the due date, it's on time.

After all, that's how they do it for the IRS. Could you imagine if the IRS worked the other way, and that you'd have to wait for confirmation they received it before you knew if you were going to owe back taxes or not?
