I was married before.. I think that probably sums it up.. He left me with tons of debt. then stole the son and I pay for support for a son I have not seen in 17 years. He is going to be 18 the end of this year.... I pay over 400.00 a month for him.. I am behind now be cause I was out of work for a long time... I am working now... Plus I owe back taxes from 2004 and 2005, I lost my home and owe over 9 grand in taxes after they repoed it. I am truly stuck.. Regarding your taxes and child support, these can be easily fixed by contacting the agencies involved.

The tax office should allow you to arrange an affordable payment plan that will enable you to clear your back taxes without killing yourself.

The child support agency or Court should allow you to reduce your support payments when they re-assess your situation.

I am yet to see any agency requiring payments in any civilised country that are clearly unaffordable to the individual. No-one wants to see anyone fall into bankruptcy. Payment plans and debt agreements are available to anyone.

I have to add that you seem to have been divorced 17 years ago and still blame that for everything. My advice would be to get over it and move on. I think you should also focus on seeing your son.

Call the IRS and let them know you can only pay a certain amount every month. You will have to fill up a form and commit to a regular installment payment. The longer you wait the interest will continue to accrue. If you don't do it your paycheck will be garnished is time you get paid.
