Can I be an mp in the army if i have bad credit but no criminal history?

i heard in order to get a security clearance you must meet both requirements

Bad credit is an issue that must be adjudicated. Generally, the adjudicator is going to be concerned if you still have excessive outstanding credit or if you have a pattern of financial mismanagement.

Credit issues are the number one killer of security clearances.

You need to be up front about your bad credit and the military will work with you to set up payments with your creditors. Ive known guys who had some bad mistakes in their background but didn't hide it and they were given Top Secret clearances. Honesty is the best thing when going for your clearance. Also with the need for MP's now I doubt you will have a problem.

Training is gonna take some time, hopefully enough time for you to get your credit back in check. I wouldn't worry about it, but get used to being broke in the military.
