How can I finance an engagement ring if I have bad credit?

Maybe I should clarify. My bad credit is a result of my ex wife. When she decided she wanted a divorce, I agreed to settle financial matters without a judge having to do it all for us (big mistake). She hasn't been paying things that were in my name that legally she should have been paying thus the bad credit rating. It was not a result of my irresponsibility.

Pay cash. It will be more meaningful if you don't enter a marriage owing money on her ring. Check out Pawn shops, and ask jewerls for their bottom dollar. Jewerly is marked up 200% a lot of times. Get a GREAT deal and pay cash! Also, walk away if they won't come down, you don't want to do business with anyone who won't work with you anyway, you are the one with the money. Also, it helps to negioate price if you have cash in hand too.

Have you tried the jewelry store?

They normally are really easy to get.

Frank, I understand you're wanting to provide a nice ring for your new lady, but let's not start off this relationship with debt. I'm sure you can find a nice ring that you can afford to pay cash for. I gotta tell ya, I love the Diamonique line of wedding rings on QVC. Check it out. You can (and should) tell her that you'll buy her something more expensive later, but for now it's meant with all your heart! She'll gush! Some of those rings are absolutely spectacular! Take a look and you decide.

HUGS and Best Wishes from Minnesota
