It takes time to build a credit record - your credit record was not destroyed overnight as well
Be consistent and patient
It takes to show that you are worthy of trust
Start a bank account
Be frugal in your life
Be responsible
After a while of having a bank balance ( and no n.s.f cheques)
ask to borrow a small amount from the bank - even $ 100 while having $ 500 in the bank
Pay it back
Do this several times
Take out a charge card were you put up a reserve fund behind it ( you give them $ 1000 and you have a $ 1000 limit)
Buy regular items with this - groceries , gas , movies etc
It takes time but it this is the best way
